  • Making Wine Cocktails

Quite often during the summer it is nice to have a nice cold drink when you are sitting out in the sunshine, however for those that do not drink wine the options are fairly limited. This article will talk you through using wine to make ice cold drinks that even the non wine drinkers can enjoy!

If you have a bottle of red wine (if not get down to the wine merchants), the easiest and most enjoyable option is to turn it into sangria. This light and enjoyable Spanish drink is a sure fire hit during the summer with everyone. It is guaranteed to cool you down during the summer sun. Simply dice up some fruit and add this with some brandy and lemonade to the red wine and you have a basic sangria. Perhaps you have a bottle of wine which you have started and you are not a big fan of, this is the perfect use for that bottle.

Alternatively you can mix either white wine or red wine with lemonade to create a wine spritzer. This creates a lighter and refreshing drink which is more acceptable to those that do not drink wine on a regular basis.

If you are throwing a party they creating a punch from wine could be a good idea. You can add pretty much anything that you would like to the punch including lemonade, ginger ale, liqueur and brandy. Mix as much or as little as you would like. On top of this you can add a selection of frozen fruits to give it an even colder kick!

For those that are looking to mix up a bottle of champagne, you can mix it with orange juice. This creates a beautiful light and refreshing drink that is perfect for any time of the day from first thing in the morning to last thing at night.

Alternatively you can try out some other flavour wines. Many people say they do not "like wine", however they have only tried one bottle and now think that they do not like any wine. There are plenty of wines which taste different though and that are likely to be liked by those.

Rather than using ice to create the cocktails, you may want to invest in a slush machine.
